Ok all you 80s babies?

if you could bring one fashion trend back, what would it be? leg warmers? leather pants? stir up pants with the huge belted shirt and pumps?

i think mine would be-ripped up jeans with boots and 10,000 jellie bracelets-and the hair (good god what were we thinking!?)

Ok all you 80s babies?

I had to change my answer, because not a single person has mentioned...

DEELYBOBBERS!

Bring back the bobbers! What this country needs right now is about ten million people roaming the streets with spring-mounted purple stars bouncing on top of their heads.

Ok all you 80s babies?

LEGWARMERS ALL THE WAY!

Ok all you 80s babies?

I would bring back shoulder pads

Ok all you 80s babies?

Madonna.

Ok all you 80s babies?

leg warmers are already kinda in.

and so are pumps....

Ok all you 80s babies?

The micro minis

Ok all you 80s babies?

Yep...Leg warmers!

Ok all you 80s babies?

everything was crazy that we wore back in the day....stir up pants and the shirt were my fave

Ok all you 80s babies?

The Don Johnson liesure suit with a pastel t-shirt and no socks w/loafers %26amp; ray-bans...wow, what were we thinking for real!!!

Ok all you 80s babies?

Ripped Jeans %26amp; Parachute Pants~

Ok all you 80s babies?

How about wearing those small round plastic earrings that were the same colour as the shirt you were wearing? Or the big thing at one of my high schools was wearing coloured socks that matched your shirt.

Ok all you 80s babies?

Remind me again why we wore the bandana around the leg???

Ok all you 80s babies?

I liked the ripped jeans. And big earrings

Ok all you 80s babies?

I was born in 72 but grew up in the 80's.......

I say...

JELLY SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Ok all you 80s babies?

The hair for sure. The bigger the better!

Ok all you 80s babies?

I liked Jelly shoes- they were more of an early 90s thing, but I had them in every damn color - neon green, clear, pink, magenta.

I also like curled bangs. I remember that I wasn't really allowed to use the curling iron back then, but I discovered my own way to make them. You had to rub the palm of your hand around your bangs, until they poofed into a ball.

Ok all you 80s babies?

ripped, pants...!!!

Ok all you 80s babies?

not many!! maybe high wasted jeans- they probably make you look thinner

Ok all you 80s babies?

the hair and the big sweaters with belts.

Ok all you 80s babies?

i wus just made in the 80s lol 閳?br>Ok all you 80s babies?

The parachute pants and members only jacket. How about the double polo shirt with the collar up.

Ok all you 80s babies?

almost all of the fashion trends youve named is comming back in style right now..

ok i was born in 87 so i was too young to really know a fashion trend but i really like the afro puffs.. i use to rock those when i was a little girl... "im gettin ruff and tough wit my afro puff yeah rock on wit ya bad self" lol.. i use to love that song.

Ok all you 80s babies?

Tee hee! What about those huge shoulder pads in shirts!?

Ok all you 80s babies?

I have a thing for jeans with holes in them. My favorite pair I have had for almost three years and they have holes all in them but, I just can't bring myself to get rid of them. Plus, it's the summer so it's kinda like a built in air conditioner.

Ok all you 80s babies?

Tapered and stonewashed jeans that you french rolled. And crimped big hair.

Ok all you 80s babies?

parachute pants!!!

Ok all you 80s babies?

I'm a 1981 child!

Omg I'd bring em all back, especially the mullet hair! LOL

Ok all you 80s babies?

bring back ELVIS babyy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHH

elvis

Ok all you 80s babies?

My favorite was jellies I would by those again if they ever came back.

Ok all you 80s babies?

I did kind of like those jelly shoes I was rocking at the age of 3. I don't think they were too comfy, but they were really cute.

Ok all you 80s babies?

That's funny. Just a few weeks ago I had to explain stirrup pants to someone who hadn't been born until the mid-eighties. I liked them because they stayed in place. Do you remember the jelly sandals that matched the jelly bracelets. How high did you tease your hair? How about the big coloured earrings? Nice stuff, eh? I had the boots--cowboy-style with a fringe. I sure hope my packrat dad didn't keep any of that stuff.

I guess I'd bring back the huge shirt--I could hide all my imperfections in it!

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual

Have you noticed that whilst sitting on the train or browsing around in shops, that you get the odd kid that will be sitting opposite you with a mornful look across there face listening to terrible screeching music, covered in facial piercings with wacky coloured hair and tattoos looking like there about to commit sucicide. It is these particular kids in school who had the attitude that everyone else was unoriginal, boring and replicas of each other, they dressed in this style to express they are individual but aren't they just conforming to another stereotypical fashion trend, like all the other kids that walk around like this? Yet they are so content on the idea that they are being different? is this a lack of self confidence or a issue of identity or problem with self esteem?

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual?

the funny thing is they don't realize their futility

i had one to tell me

they had formed a club for anarchists

i would tell you who they told me was their president but i wouldn't want to exploit their lack of intelligence or education or both

i just smiled and looked at them like i would anyone who doesn't know that they are incriminating themselves

i laugh ( inside)...lol

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual?

Because they're breaking from the norm of mainstream popular culture....

....just like very other goth/grunger/emo (but don't tell them that!)

The irony being that emo/goth has now become a part of the capitalist popular culture with elements which represent all the things that the original hippies/goths were fighting against!

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual?

they just want to stand out from the norm

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual?

I have no idea why you would even want to stereotype your self anyways. It makes you less than what you really are. It totally destroys all that you could be. Loving yourself the way you are is happiness. And God could not be prouder.

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual?

love all, accept all, hate none

be who you want to be, if thats who they want to be, let them.

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual?

LOL I love this question it made me laugh. I think it's a problem with self esteem.

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual?

My guess is typically, Kids will be Kids. Why does this bother you? What did you dress like as a kid?

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual?

Yeah, I get your point. They kind of follow that whole, "I'm unique! Just like everyone else!" Unfortunately for them, they get classified whether they like it or not. What they don't realize is that when they decide they are going to be "rebellious" and "anti-conformity" they aren't the only ones. I don't much understand it. If you want to be unique, be yourself, not people's skewed image of "unique."

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual?

Most teenagers feel like they have to be different, gothic emo's (or whateva they are) are just trying to be individual!

however, when teen's try to be 'individual' they end up being like evryone else who is trying to be 'individual' and this backfires!!

Goths and emo's are called this because goths dress 'gothicly' with vintage black outfits, emos are named this because people fimd them too 'emotional' they are depressed and not afraid to show it and others find this unsettling!!

these people are just like any other teenager, its just that they are not afraid to show the emotions that the rest of us are feeling!!

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual?

It's a lifestyle, like any other. I know a lot of older people [my age, late 20's, early 30's] who are dark in nature, have a lot of tatoos and facial piercings, some who are wiccan, that are quite normal. They go to work, same as I do, pay their bills, like the same television shows I do and so on. They may be into a different night scene than me, but they certainly don't frown upon, or otherwise criticize me for my lifestyle [being different] like you do theirs. What difference does it make to you? I don't think you should form a judgement without knowing what it's like to walk a mile in their shoes. [And yes, I stole that line from Everlast, very talented dude, awesome song] I think the term "emo" [or emotional], is mainly reserved for younger people [teenagers] who seem to be emotional, like many other young people, but manifest it differently. They don't neccessarily feel they are individuals in the sense that you mean, they are certainly different than mainstream society mainly because they remain misunderstood by people like you. This makes them feel disconnected from mainstream society, they simply seek out others that fit the same mold. There is no such thing as individualism in this country, only collectivism. This includes you, while you point out the same for someone else. This concept of "emo", gothic and the like has been around for a long time now, so you're not the first to misunderstand it, and I doubt very seriously that you will be the last. Instead of criticizing someone who is different, why not open your mind to understand them. You don't have to share someone's opinion or point of view, but you can certainly be empathetic. It takes up way less energy, my friend.

Peace

*****EDITED*****

4 years and you think you know something, right? Whatever. If you don't like my answer, perhaps you shouldn't ask the question. The truth hurts sometimes, don't it? The point of my answer was to share with you the gross generalizations you make, and how they don't apply to everyone. You're soooooo smart and know better than anyone else, right? I wasn't patronizing you, but if you feel the shoe fits baby girl, so be it.

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual?

Its just a trend that they are following.

What worries me is that in following this trend, some people self harm. Not because they are depressed (though some claim to be, some might actually be, ya never know) but some do it becuase they think "Oh everyone else is doing it"

Why do grudgy, gothic, emo's(whatever they refer to themselves as)feel that they are individual?

I've been wondering this for the longest! They're no different!Just versions of their own favorite fad.

What do you think about this poem ?

I said I long for thee

You said your sorrows will end.

Be my moon, rise up for me

Only if it will ascend.

I said, from lovers learn

How with compassion burn

Beauties, you said in return

Such common tricks transcend.

Your visions, I will oppose

My mind's paths, I will close

You said, this night-farer knows

Another way will descend.

With the fragrance of your hair

I'm lost in my world's affair

You said, if you care, you dare

On its guidance can depend.

I said hail to that fresh air

That the morning breeze may share

Cool is that breeze, you declare

With beloved's air may blend.

I said, your sweet and red wine

Granted no wishes of mine

You said, in service define

Your life, and your time spend.

I said, when will your kind heart

Thoughts of friendship start?

Said, speak not of this art

Until it's time for that trend.

I said, happiness and joy

Passing time will destroy.

Said, Hafez, silence employ

Sorrows too will end my friend.

What do you think about this poem ?

Beauties, you said in return

Such common tricks transcend.

Your visions, I will oppose

My mind's paths, I will close

You said, this night-farer knows

Another way will descend.

I like this part of the poem the best. The whole poem reminds me of Vladimir Nabokov's masterpiece "Lolita." I love this book, and for some reason it sounded almost like its doomed hero Humbert Humbert talking about his (tragic) life story, and particularly here:

"You said, 'If you care, you dare.'"

The latter part of which seemed to be something Lolita (Humbert's....muse? obsession?) would say, and something Humbert would liken to her.

What do you think about this poem ?

Is it Roham? thanks for sharing the poem but I can't say it's my cup of tea... It seems very gentle, very soft, yet it may be an iron fist in a velvet glove---it's confusing to me, see. I'm sorry. I read carefully. Perhaps another time, with another poem. Good luck with this one...

What do you think about this poem ?

I like the last line which is most appropriate related to time. That true harvest is one which employs silence to end sorrows.

New group of kids/teens?

I've noticed a new "classification" of kids/teens lately. They appear to be college age. Men, most of them are fairly tall, thin (sometimes painfully so), lanky, they wear low-rise jeans, form-fitting t-shirts, and their hair is long, shaggy, and brushed to the front. They also seem to "slump" a lot--walk with their shoulders hunched forward. Is this a fad/trend or is there a name for these guys?

What do guys want???

hey guys just want to know... what you look for in a girl I mean I wont say that im ugly and I cant say that im the best looking girl that anyone has see... im ok looking I have long dark brown hair and big blue eyes. And I have a European body shape not fat but not thin... im always in the latest fashion trend and I know how to present myself.. I am a sweet girl I have guys looking at me all the time and I have lots of guy friends but I have never been asked out on a date like I have never had a boyfriend a lot of my girl friends say that its ok guys just don閳ユ獩 know what they want閳? So I need some help please thanks閳?br>What do guys want???

It sounds to me like you might be unaproachable. Kinda like the guys might be like "No way do I stand a chance with her." or something. But there realy is no sure way of telling. But, heck it's the 21st century why don't you ask a guy out and get his reaction.

What do guys want???

Guys want different things just like Women want different things. In laymen terms Different men want different things.

What do guys want???

being a fun person is KEY.

What do guys want???

You shouldn't want to change so a guy will ask you out. You should be happy with what you are, and it may not be that a guy from your school or whatever will ask you out. Why does it allways have to be the guy who asks the girl out. If you know what you want and it's there maybe you should take a chance and ask the guy out.

What do guys want???

1. small breasts

2. flat stomach

3. short hair

4. open mind

5. sassy at times

6. can hold her own and knows when not to

7. no fakes or flakes

8. airheads need not apply

A very strange and silly question?

I was wondering if I sounded attractive to men, since none of them had come out and asked me out or anything during the last YEAR except for total nerds.

I have light brown hair, 5'3", 112 lbs., 27" waist, hourglass body type, shoe size 7 (and I always wear high heels), green eyes, and I wear bright makeup. Not the usual eyeliner and lip gloss, as is the trend, but I'm talking faded red or mauve lipstick, blue or mauve eyeshadow, mascara, lip liner, eye liner, etc. Does wearing this much makeup repel guys or something? I have very pale skin and am terrified of getting sunburned. And everyone around me wants to go tan! Also, I wear clothes that are WAY out of fashion and sort of what you'd expect to see on a 30-year-old or something...I guess my look is...a bit too unusual...but do guys only go for teenage stereotypes or do they like something a little out of line? As in, an unusual sort of beauty?

A very strange and silly question?

Don't worry about your looks! It's your own unique style, and if you are comfortable with yourself, you should embrace that. Not having confidence in yourself is what turns men off. You have to like yourself before others like you. Just be yourself and the right man will come along. Good luck!

A very strange and silly question?

hey nerds are sometimes cute!! If you want gangster type, you can NEVER be shy, and you gotta have big boobs and ***.

Oh and what do you look like without make-up? I know a lot of guys who just hate girls who wear too much, so don't show your fake face, show the real one! Sure put some make-up but you put on toooooo much.

A very strange and silly question?

it would turn me off.

A very strange and silly question?

Guys go for someone who knows how to dress and carry themselves...Sorry, guys don't want to hang around someone who dresses or looks like Bubbles the happy clown. Tone down the makeup to neutral and dress better...Show the men how attractive you can be and I assure you, they will notice you more and ask you out.

A very strange and silly question?

You know, everybodys standard of beauty varies. i look in the mirror and see red hair thats never in place, glasses that are kind of out there and zits,....but someone else might see red hair thats fun to play with, glasses that are cute, and zits that prove shes imperfect. So apply that to you! they see 5'3, 112 lbs, hourglass body type that you may see as AWFUL...but to any one guy the see you as perfect to hold, and beautiful to look at, and clothes and make up that show her for who she is! As in, not afraid to go against the trends or whatever. Guys are very strange...but isn't that why we love them?

A very strange and silly question?

It sounds like your wearing to much make up, and thats a turn off for a lot of men. I love green eyes. I bet if you wore less make up, men would notice your eyes more.

A very strange and silly question?

KINDA SOUNDS SEXY TO ME, R U A HOTTIE!?

A very strange and silly question?

1st impressions are important but so is what is on the inside. Someone will see that you are a good person quirks and all and fall hopelessly in love with you. Or you may stay single. Either way be happy with who you are and that is more important than what ppl think of you.

A very strange and silly question?

I think you are not confident enough... if you have to ask if you are sexy, then you obviously doubt yourself! Self-doubt does not attract men! Men are also not attracted to lack of confidence, a frumpy attitude or lack of personality. Once you get a handle on these things, you will be beating the guys off with a stick!

A very strange and silly question?

Be nice and you'll get nice. Self esteem is what is sexy!

A very strange and silly question?

I have the same problem in my male side.

The best Answer that was picked up suggested to move in other country. So maybe you should come to Italy and visit me!

Actually I dont know much about make up but I would not suggest to put too much of that "stuff" on your face for sure.

A very strange and silly question?

girls can describe themselves ad nauseum in text and it still would never get the point across - us guys need to see a picture. your figure sounds nice, but dressing well is definitely a turn on. as for me (26), i prefer a girl who wears something sexy but not, as you put it, "teenage". the look usually includes some kind of form fitting jeans (NOT tapered ankle or soccer mom jeans, but preferably a boot cut, maybe low rise), a nice shirt, and sexy, dressy type shoes (usually heels).

i am a fan of pale girls, as long as you don't look like you have cancer or the flu or spina bifida. also, too much make up can be a real turn off. if you can put on make up and make it look like you are not wearing make up, you are doing something good and accentuating your natural good-looking-ness. you don't want to be a "transformer" (you know, looks good with make up on, but wake up in the morning and you are like "wtf!").

anyway, like i said before i can't judge without a picture, but it sounds like you should lay off the make up and dress more fashionably.

good day.

Tell me frankly, How did pinoys became so lousy when it comes to speaking English?

I am so appalled by the way college graduate pinoys delivers terrible english in a conversation, and trying hard to sound like Kris Aquino or tries to immitate some moronic personalities who themselves struggles with the language!

I am so engrossed by pinoys who tries to change our mother tongue by fashioning words like "saan ka nag wo work?" or something irritatingly coloquial terms.

are we really that stupid when it comes to term with our own Identity? are we really that stupid that most of us are trying to look and sound like foreign? to the fact that we look terribly awful in hair colors, looks awfully fake in bleached skins and sounds horribly dumb when engaged in english conversations with foreigners! are we not ashamed from these things? is our education standard these bad? To our fellow kababayans, Dignify yourself by refraining from this horrible trend, think of your destiny and preserve your Dignity. STOP immitating and start being natural again. PLEASE maging tutoo ka!

Tell me frankly, How did pinoys became so lousy when it comes to speaking English?

It's because Filipinos allow themselves to. On the other hand, there are those who don't, like yourself.

In all honesty, I am irritated as well. And the media seems to glorify this. The TV programs that we see everday are just appalling.

And those Filipinos that I've met elsewhere, if you hold a conversation in English for 5 mins, you'd definitely know that guy is a genius. Others will excuse themselves meekly.

Tell me frankly, How did pinoys became so lousy when it comes to speaking English?

All the pinoys I've run into seemed to speak English a lot better than I speak Tagalog.... So I'm willing to cut them some slack.

Tell me frankly, How did pinoys became so lousy when it comes to speaking English?

I guess it is at the time when people started laughing at those who tries to practice. And it got worse when people started imitating and tries to speak in Filipino valley. hahaha!

Tell me frankly, How did pinoys became so lousy when it comes to speaking English?

If you're you're really Filipino, as you seem to be, then you should know that English is not our native tongue. Though it is true that Filipinos can generally communicate in English, you can't expect them speak the language the way Americans do, or the way you want them to.

Maybe the college graduates you refer to may not have received the same standard of education as you did, or does not have the same social standing as you do. It's not fare to judge Filipnos in general with how they speak English, especially if you're comparing us with foreigners or with how fluent you think you are. Try speaking to graduates of UA%26amp;P, Ateneo, DLSU, etc. Maybe from them you can hear the kind of English communication you expect from Filipinos - then again, we are but just a small fraction of Philippine society.

Tell me frankly, How did pinoys became so lousy when it comes to speaking English?

How did you find the heart to be so incredibly audacious as to criticize the English of anyone? Your grammar and writing style are so poor I would not consider you an expert in this or any language language.
