Perhaps it's just the Net, but lurking in and out of the fashion, hair and dance areas, I see a lot (well it seems a lot) of posts relating to guys dressing as girls, or having their hair done, or wearing make up etc etc. What do you think is the toot of this trend? Is it over-stated here because of the anonymity? Do some girls really encourage this, and why? I get the, it can be fun aspect, but sometimes I get the impression this is more than a once a year thing. What do you all think?

Yeah, i know what you mean! In photo shoots men sometimes wear what females would normally wear because it is supposed to look sexy! It depends on the guy but to tell you the truth it can look rather good!! As for the girls incouraging it they may think its hot or cool. I don't think it's too bad. lol hope I could be of some help!!

Welcome to the internet...land of information. It's always been there, it's just that now you know about it.

A bigger question becomes "why should certain articles of clothing be monopolized by women, or by men?"

Obviously men don't have the monopoly on pants, boxers, boots, etc. Do people scream "lesbian" when a girl decides to wear a guy's shirt? Do they call her gay if she sports a pair of boxers? "Weird" is about as derrogatory as she might get.

However, have one guy say that he likes wearing pantyhose and out come the insults ad nauseum.

Completely unrelated, a lot of girls encourage it because they genuinely like it, themselves. *YOU* might not, but you might not like the color red...you're not going to complain about people who somehow like red, even if they happen to be in the minority.

The fight has raged on for decades before you or I was born against the double standards men have had with women...from voting, to same job payscales, and so on. Does it somehow make sense that double standards are unacceptable one way, but not the other?

It's just fashion and clothes and make-up... Some guys look good in a dress and some don't... what can i say. It most probably comes from rock n roll. Some people like to break the mold and enjoy their freedom. Nothing wrong with that.
