She doesnt even speak English. Whenever I try to prove to her that isnt wrong she starts saying "You're stubborn" "You are going to bring me to my grave" "Im not going to be there if the cops arrest you" %26amp; "stop dressing like you're from the world, Christians are different." Her neighbors watch me %26amp; tell her, "Your son is weird, dont be surprised if he's arrested, gangsters wear stud belts to hit people" %26amp; my mom believes all that crap %26amp; makes me dress like I'm from the 1950s (short hair to the side %26amp; shirt tucked in) so the cops wont see me as a criminal. I kno we argue a lot just because of a studded belt %26amp; wristbands (I dont really care about that) Its the fact that she goes psycho over stupid things that EVERYBODY does. Everytime she comes from our country she gets stricter, %26amp; just not a normal mom. She doesnt go outside to observe the youth trends %26amp; their music because all does is stay home listening to spanish christian music %26amp; talk with her nosy hispanic neighbors. Come on!

Ask your mom if she believes that god would want you to be able to express individuality? Her answer should be yes. Then ask her if she thinks god would put people in a certain stereotype only because of thier individualism. Clothes and accesories are not what make up the bad people in this world, and i dont think god would appreciate her close mindness.

Sounds like you have a great mom who loves you and wants the best for you. Find friends who do not wear "studs." Play a sport, join Boy Scouts, join a school dance group, or school drama club, or school leadership.

Dude, give your mom a break. She is trying to raise a good kid in a world that isn't that easy to live in. Your youth is over quickly and you can wear whatever you want. Relish the time you have with this woman who obviously wants the best for you. And I know sometimes it's hard, but realize that no one loves you the way she does or ever will. There are worse things in this world than tucking your shirt in--like having a mom who doesn't care at all.
