How is scene non-conforming?

what i hate about this new trend...yes, it is a trend...is that everyone thinks that they are being SO different when in fact, theyre conforming themselves.

What i personally think is that this little trend is a non-conformist GROUP. which doesnt make any sense because now people are conforming to this so-called rebellion.

For example, if you go on photobucket and type in 'scene', all of the pictures are exactly alike. hair: Teased, layered, and unnaturally dyed. Makeup: heavy on the eyes.

And what is the most unnerving thing of all is that everyone in this stereotype thinks that they are an individual. They all look alike. they are afraid of actually being different, so they conform to a group rebellion.

and when you realize that your not being an individual, you are actually confrming, and are okay with that, that is the saddest thing of all.

get some biscuits and have some freaking individuality.

How is scene non-conforming?

Most teens that go for alternative fashions think that they are being different. Over the years they've had it beat into them that they want to be the Jock or the Cheerleader. They rebel against that with alternative trends.

And in this day and age, true individulality is impossible. Just about everything we own has been overproduced, cloned for all. I say we just stop caring about being original and just start loving everything. There's no such thing as a non-conformist, because they'd still be conforming to non-conformity.

Its teen hypocrisy, its quite annoying.

How is scene non-conforming?

We all do it. Its part of growing up - testing out different identities for ourselves. The first ones are usually group ones.

Being one's self is a challenging feat to a lot of people. You have to find what makes you click, and when you have it, it is awesome. The people that are truly non-conformist, tend to be viewed as 'weird but harmless' by most of society and aren't mopey, so much as they are usually happy a large chunk of the time because they have found their niche` in life.

edit: I just realized I didn't really answer your question, so here you go:

The scene has always been a conformist local to the people that don't fit it in with the social definition of normal in terms of appearance and attitude. It is conformist and most people express themselves in very similar ways, because, even though they strive to say how much individualism matters, they long to be a part of a group. Probably because humans like to have someone to relate to for the most part and are social creatures really.

How is scene non-conforming?

it is unhuman and unanimalistic(that is what we are)to not conform to a community of people....we are, by nature, communal, but we live in a capitalistic society which focuses on individualism in all forms, so somehow, we feel the need to find our "individuality"......it really is not sad, when people get older, they realize the need for community and togetherness and are usually not disheartened by it....it is a stage in life....that is all

How is scene non-conforming?

i don't think that all "scene, emo people" think that they are being individual and original but instead are self expresing them selves in what they ware and if they think that suits them best then let them were or use what they like.

and no one (even you and me) is original, or individual cause they all got the idea form some where.

you can give me any person and ill tell you how they are not being original or have individuality....

in the world we live in every one just copies another perosn werther it be by their cloths or style or actions

yes people are unique but there are not completely individual.

(i hope you understand what i'm trying to say)

How is scene non-conforming?

Wow...it looks exactly like 80's punk rockers. These people must have been watching VH1 80's marathons.
