Need New Outfit/Look for Holiday Party, any ideas?

My boyfriend has just started complaining about my outfits saying it's "not normal" to wear skirts all the time, and that they make me look like a "hippie" (which he doesn't like), or that I'm stuck in the 1940s (I'm in my 20s)

I was under the impression skirts were polite and classy. I usually wear knee length skirts in blacks/browns, soft pinks (low key colors) and a button down sweater. I was kind of schocked when he told me he didn't like my clothes, as this is the first time I've heard it.

Well, I need a new outfit that's not so embarrassing to my boyfriend for a holiday party he is taking me too, it is not formal. I've asked him to help pick something out for me but he say's it's hopeless.

I'm 5'3, 100lbs, shoulder length blond hair. What would be a "sexy" look for me that's not a dress or skirt? Perhaps just a shiney top and pants? Any trends this holiday season color wise?

Colour wise...red, bright green, royal/bright blue, and light yellow...theyre the main ones... but you could probably get away with like a bright purple or something. maybe some 3/4 pants with a tee, or something...it depends on who you are really.

Have you thought about trying on some gouchos? These pants aren't long but they're not capris either. I am 5'0" and i wear gouchos for parties and such with nice silky blouses and either high heels or for the winter high heel boots. Maybe that will help you. Never hurts to try something new!!!

Black straight leg pants flat front, with red top. If you want to be conservative wear black boots with it with a red sweater set. If you want to go sexy get a red glittery tank with red sandals and a silver chain or gold chain belt. There you go!

It sounds like you have more problems than an outdated wardrobe but a pair of tight, dark blue jeans and a cami with a flannel like shirt over it that is unbuttoned or a cami with a low cut hoodie on top will give you a modern, sexy, but not to skimpy outfit. P.S. skirts are polite and classy o and shoe wise a cute pair of skimmers (ballet flat like shoes) will balance out your look

go for vintage. try papaya and get a long dress like shirt [not too long like to knees?] with somewhat poofy sleeves. then get a BIG belt put it around STOMACHE and black leggings. then add some cute high heels.

you should wear a tighter pair of dark wash jeans and a sexy vneck tank (maybe silky) and if you are cold wear a blazer over top of itr so you stay classy and not too trashy.

get a pair of darker wash jeans, preferably bootcut, a nice pair of boots, or dressier shoes and a nice dress top. charlotte russe is a good store for girls in their 20s. i shop there and i'm 20.

Buy a new pair of cute jeans, get a black top, something pretty and dressy though, and wear black boots with it. Curl your hair and do your makeup different. I would wear gold jewelry, maybe just a necklace and bracelet.
