Perhaps it's just the Net, but lurking in and out of the fashion, hair and dance areas, I see a lot (well it seems a lot) of posts relating to guys dressing as girls, or having their hair done, or wearing make up etc etc. What do you think is the toot of this trend? Is it over-stated here because of the anonymity? Do some girls really encourage this, and why? I get the, it can be fun aspect, but sometimes I get the impression this is more than a once a year thing. What do you all think?

Yeah, i know what you mean! In photo shoots men sometimes wear what females would normally wear because it is supposed to look sexy! It depends on the guy but to tell you the truth it can look rather good!! As for the girls incouraging it they may think its hot or cool. I don't think it's too bad. lol hope I could be of some help!!

Welcome to the internet...land of information. It's always been there, it's just that now you know about it.

A bigger question becomes "why should certain articles of clothing be monopolized by women, or by men?"

Obviously men don't have the monopoly on pants, boxers, boots, etc. Do people scream "lesbian" when a girl decides to wear a guy's shirt? Do they call her gay if she sports a pair of boxers? "Weird" is about as derrogatory as she might get.

However, have one guy say that he likes wearing pantyhose and out come the insults ad nauseum.

Completely unrelated, a lot of girls encourage it because they genuinely like it, themselves. *YOU* might not, but you might not like the color red...you're not going to complain about people who somehow like red, even if they happen to be in the minority.

The fight has raged on for decades before you or I was born against the double standards men have had with women...from voting, to same job payscales, and so on. Does it somehow make sense that double standards are unacceptable one way, but not the other?

It's just fashion and clothes and make-up... Some guys look good in a dress and some don't... what can i say. It most probably comes from rock n roll. Some people like to break the mold and enjoy their freedom. Nothing wrong with that.

And if you want to do what everybody else is doing, go for it; it really won't compromise your individuality. If you're wondering about your hair, I'd say try out a couple things and do the one that flatters your face best :)

No! Straight hair to me looks flat and ugly. Plus straightening your hair kills it! Waves and curls are more cute and sexy. Don't follow trends. You sound really nice, so don't change for a stupid 'trend'. If you want a change for yourself, then do it. You could try a new haircut, color, or scrunching your hair for waves/curls depending on your hair.

This girl, like most, LIKES hairy guys. It's grown-up and masculine. If I wanted something smooth, I'd become a lesbian. I have yet to see a guy so gorilla-like that it's disgusting. They can't help their hair, and I think shaving would be kinda creepy and stuble a lot worse.

Girls shaving is a must if their hair is black or dark colored. in your case though there might be and exception. as for guys, mostly on the guys that play sports shave their legs at least. they say it makes them faster but i dont see it effecting them much.

I would really like to dye my hair dark brown, but the problem is that ALOT of girls in my school are dying their hair dark. If I do it, I will get teased for 'following the crowd' when really, I'm not. Ok this is totally gross but i had to ask someone. Why is it when i dont' shave down there I kind of get a funny smell from the discharge trying in my pubic hair. I really don't want to shave everything off, and i currently know that this is the trend, but when i ovulate and produce more discharge it kind of dries in my hair, and creates a smell. What can I do about this? I don't have stds bc i am not sexually active, so please don't say anything about that. Also, it's not a HORRIBLE smell, but it does not smell like roses either. How normal is that?!?? Maybe it's bc I have been taking baths and not showers.

Hair traps odor. You don't always need to shave you can keep it trimmed and try wearing pantyliners to help. If you wash everyday it shouldn't be a problem.

Maybe you should try taking showers so you're not sitting in dirty water. Just make sure you clean your area every day and you should be fine.

I shave just the lower portion, for exactly the same reason. I was shaving LONG before it became fashionable, and will continue to do so long after bush is back.

If you don't want to shave, then consider trimming neatly with scissors. Or waxing.

As for the odor issue, be sure to bathe daily. Method shouldn't matter...just be sure to rinse and dry the area thoroughly. And use personal cleansing wipes after EVERY trip to the bathroom.

lol...i answered a question like this but yeah..i do have discharge like you, and yeah its helps to shave, not completely, but just until your comfortable. Like the other one i answered, you cant stop discharge, its normal. It has nothing to do with taking either baths or showers, just make sure you take either one everyday to keep fresh and wear cotton undies!

Hot right now are skinny jeans %26amp; I'm sure you could find a long "sailor" striped tee. Long sleeved if you want to look nice. Heels would look hot with the skinny jeans but if you're not a big fan then ballerina pumps will look cute.

Best tip I can give you really is to add accessories to your outfits. Big bags, earrings, belts etc. Bring bold colours but not OTT. Also maybe you're not carrying yourself the wrong way. Whatever I wear I get noticed 'cause of the way I make an entrance wherever I go. It's all about confidence, baby. =]

Hey. If you are allowed, and only if you want o, you should color your hiar. That will get everyone's attention I promise. You should color it a very light brown. And to give more movement and volume, get some layers and some bangs. Do the opposite of what everyone else is doin. If everyone is wearing stripes wear polka dots. Or even both. The key to starting your own trend is dont do what everyone else is doing. If you do, youre going to blend in with the crowd. If you wanna get noticed and have more friends, just go up yo people and just start talking to them. First make a comment on their shoes or something and just go from there. well. buy a pair of skinny jeans and flats. pair it with a cute top that you think will go with it.

My friend started wearing Vans and she started a whole new fashion trend! Vans are sneakers in case you were wondering. Well stores like Hollister, American Eagle, Abercrombie are popular and nice. Start wearing like long necklaces and ball necklaces to get noticed. Don't start putting on extra makeup or anything though. A good way to get noticed is to change your hairstyle a lot to get people interested in what you are going to do next. Straigten it, then scrunch it (make it wavy). I'm fine and dandy with my friends being followers of a trend, but as a long-time guitarist, I have people asking me why I don't follow the trend also.

posers annoy the hell outta me. they think they're "real" when they're the fakest of them all. I don't pretend to be what i'm not. I'm not a great guitarist but I'm learning. I don't strut it around like I'm a "rocker" because I'm trying to become a real one. I don't try to go through all the looks because that's the least important thing.

I understand what you're saying and I'm only 27 but I'm sure it quite often becomes fashionable.

Rock'N'Roll, Punk, Grunge, Nu Metal, Emo. Anything that goes against the grain seems to develop it's own followers and then the people that want to be like them - if you see what I mean.

I used to get really annoyed about it when I was a teenager but then... I just learnt to let go... a bit.

what i hate about this new trend...yes, it is a trend...is that everyone thinks that they are being SO different when in fact, theyre conforming themselves.

What i personally think is that this little trend is a non-conformist GROUP. which doesnt make any sense because now people are conforming to this so-called rebellion.

For example, if you go on photobucket and type in 'scene', all of the pictures are exactly alike. hair: Teased, layered, and unnaturally dyed. Makeup: heavy on the eyes.

And what is the most unnerving thing of all is that everyone in this stereotype thinks that they are an individual. They all look alike. they are afraid of actually being different, so they conform to a group rebellion.

and when you realize that your not being an individual, you are actually confrming, and are okay with that, that is the saddest thing of all.

Probably because humans like to have someone to relate to for the most part and are social creatures really.

I am a girl, obviously, just so nobody suggests any boyish styles. My hair reaches the bottom of my neck. It is straight and thick. I have bangs that go past my nose. My face shape is heart-shaped.

I want the style to be a starting trend and not a trend that will end soon. I also want it to be teenager-ish and not too mature, because I'm a young teenager.

I don't want to go a millimeter shorter than I already have (I'm embarrassed by my hair length now.) And I don't want emo or scene hairstyles. It would be helpful if you could have a picture of the hairstyle from a site. And l don't want it to be high-maintenance.

I always did. Maybe it is because I was always mentally ahead of other girls and looked for "elder" guys. The look gives me a feeling of protection, maybe just a father-figure (although I have a great dad and wouldn't replace him with anyone in the world).

The other thing is that if I guy made it to have salt and pepper hair, he probably will stay like that and not "age" more and maybe, not even lose the hair he has.

My husband looked like that when I met him 6 years ago and he was 36 at that time. He still looks the same and I am loving it!

I recently read someone say on a message board I frequent that scrunchies are a trend that has passed! I wear them all the time. They're much better for hair than rubber bands, even coated ones. I don't wear the big fat ones in bold colors, but the thinner ones in either brown to match my hair color, or neutral shades like black or tan. WTF, scrunchies are dated? I wear my hair in a ponytail much of the time because I'm growing it out, and it's at an awkward length. One day I was wearing a coated rubber band when I went to the hairdresser, and she said no way - wear scrunchies because those bands cause breakage. What do you think about scrunchies?

Scrunchies aren't old. It just depends on who wears them. This question made me think back to who in my secondary school actually wears them. True, most people wear the little coated bands (me included), but non-flashy scrunchies are perfectly fine. Trust me. ^_^

Boy I hope so! But when did leather trousers (or leather pants as they call them in America) or leather jackest ever really go out of style? Like Levi's blue jeans these are staples in every girl's wardrobe. I hear most men say they think tight black leather trousers are the sexiest thing a woman can wear. I saw a poll on this once. Then again, you don't wear them in the summer. Bring them back out in the autumn.

I know that Britney, for example, naturally has light brown hair, but I think she looked best with a sandy blonde color. Most people look best staying within the range of their natural color. My hair is dark brown naturally, and I don't see why this color is becoming a trend. Not many people can carry it off unless it is their natural color. A French beauty consultant said that to look younger, you should wear your hair a shade lighter than your natural color. I think a lot of the stars I mentioned look great as blondes, so why the major color change. Dark brown looks very unnatural on them, IMO.
