Can someone choose for me an up-to-date style for an artistic teenager?

He wants it current and hip. He's totally into being defiant and a trend setter (in his art). He's eccentric and has a great personality. He just wants a style to match. He HATES preppy clothing. Totally is in love with stripes or checkers, kind of that unk rocker. But he wants to be individual, so don't do anything that would make him a poser.

And His hair is a MESS!!! he needs a new haircut!

THis kid wants a makeover and asked me for advice...

this kid sounds AWESOME... so to match his awesome personality he is going to need some neon and black. Really eccentric colors. I know it will sound gothic but try Hot Topic. You can also try..... ummm Pac Sun. I would advise him not to go into hollister, abercrombie, ae etc. He can also check vintage stores. He can also try Zumiez, that place has some sick nasty clothing. Good Luck!! If his hair is a mess, straighten it, dye it black and make it stop at the end of the ear. awesome look.

Check the Urban Outfitters website for some put together looks. A lot of people shop there, but wear it very differently. It's got more of a young hip trendy feel to it.

He could try skinny gray jeans and a cardigan with either a bold stripe or checked pattern. I know a cardigan sounds super preppy, but with a bold pattern it has a cool artistic/punk edge. As for the haircut, a cool look is to leave it medium length on top and buzz the sides. Hope I could help!!
