What do I do?

I'm in 8th grade and in a new school and I've noticed some things among my old friends through MySpace...

they're all "going emo".

It seems like they think they're emo because they have side bangs and black %26amp; white pictures. They're not in it for the music, they're in it for the trend. I see so many of the people that used to make me so happy now frowning in every picture, painting their nails black, and hiding behind their hair. I am labelled emo at my new school, and it's a totally different thing over here... but I can't manage to get out of my head the thoughts of my friends that are doing this bull. What should I do? Speak my mind to them? Or just keep quiet about it?

Tell them to stop being apart of "movements" for the wrong reasons. Let them know that them doing what they are doing isn't winning your admiration, but actually earning your disgust in their shallowness.

i know what your going through. my friend has also turned emo. me and my friends spoke our minds to her over and over again, but she doesn't seem to care about what we said. just speak your mind to them like how me and my friends did. you'll feel better. they still might not change though. remember that they are only in this for the trend and trends fade out.

my friends done that to......i`m in the 7th grade and i think that they are still cool.........it would fun to be EMO but not cut myself.....

Some very nice people dress in black and hide behind their bangs. That doesn't mean that they are emo, but then again, they could be. Since your in a new school, I wouldn't worry about it to much. Your friends should still be important, but you need to get good ones at your new school. You could start dropping hints, or arrange to meet them at the movies so that you can see if they have really changed. It's up to you.
