What is your opinion of mohawks on kids (babies, toddlers, tweens)?

I've even seen kids wearing bright colored hair and mohawks and seriously wonder about their parents and why they allow them to wear such a thing. Is it supposed to be a new trend or are the parents stuck in a certain era? Most if not all kids are just not attractive in them and I'm curious if the parents even know or realize that.

Depends on the parents really. I mean if the parents leave the hair a natural color and don't shave the sides off and do a faux-hawk of sorts then thats cool.

well. that's your opinion. no one is to say what is right or wrong. especially for someone elses kids. if they want to style their childs hair like that then what ever. i think it is cool.

I think it's cute! Why would parents keep their kids from doing something so harmless when there is so many other worse things in the world to worry about!

i personally think that letting your kids do that at such a young age is weird. the kids should grow up and then they can do whatever they want with their hair.hopefully by then they have changed their mind about the mohawk.

I dont let my kids have funny hairstyles so i think mohawks are not ok for young people especially babies there are other cool hairstyles for them you know! u dont have to be weird with a mohawk but a mohawk suits a biker by the way

Perhaps they don't mind the kids expressing themselves? In my opinion it's just okay if the kids wanted to have that style hair, but then again what parent in their right mind would force their kid to hav an unconventional haircut? Answer: Showboat parents, oh dear. Parents forcing their kids to have "normal haircuts" are just as bad if the har is unflattering/suitable.

My son had one during the summer when he was 4. I made the mistake of sending him to the barber with his dad, they asked what he wanted and he said a Mohawk. The barber asked my husband if it was OK and he said, if that's what he wants then yes. It turned out to look soo cool. People thought it was really neat because most people are too self conscious to go against whats normal. I think it taught him to be an individual. I hope that carriers out for the rest of his life. He don't always have to be "normal" sometimes that's boring,especially for something as trivial as hair, it grows back sooo fast.

For babies and toddlers, I think it's dumb. As far as teenagers go(and tweens I would probabably group in with teens since I consider them to start at age 12 which is almost there anyway), I don't think it hurts. I mean, as a parent you need to pick your battles. If Junior wants to express himself and gets a different haircut than you've been giving him since he was 5, fine. It's not like hairstyles lead to drugs and such. And funky hairstyles aren't necessarily signs of a bad kid; just as "perfect" hairstyles aren't a signs of a good kid. The reason I think it's dumb for really little kids is that it most likely wasn't their choice. I think an extreme hairstyle should be the choice of the child and not a manifestation of the parents playing "Barbie" on their kids.

I think it's fine....just like putting stupid bows in a little girls hair or dressing a child a certain way...it's the parents perogative

you should all consider that mohawks or fades or any other type of haircut is not intended for a specific group of people. Everyone is different and parents are free to do whatever they want to their kids hair. I personally think it is adorable and anyone who just detests this is probably conscience of how people look at them... and anyway,. they grow so fast and get a mind of their own and you will never be able to tell them what to do after that so enjoy your parent power while you have it!
